About
The theme message of the UK Government in 2020 seemed to be #IDontBegPardon – and so we made a book and CD / USB for them.
The theme song is “I Don’t Beg Pardon – I’m talking B*ll*cks from the Rose Garden” reflecting a certain Adviser’s “Tell All (Not Quite)” session in the Downing Street Rose Garden

Varying types of political song satire – let’s keep it in the Cashman family.
Some lovers of satirical songs already know Mike Cashman as the lead author of “Brexit’s a Trick not a Treat” and “Brexit’s a Musical Trick” which includes a full-length Brexit musical using every major tune from Les Misérables, adapted for Brexit. More information is at www.viewdelta.com.
The family have now joined in.
“Stay in Your House or Flat” is a lockdown song (“Men in Black” parody) by son Peter Cashman, sung by Peter, his wife Abi and friend Simon Cragg, and grandchildren.
“Barnard Castle” is a folk song written and sung by Fred Cashman which considers the recent saga from the viewpoint of Dominic Cummings
Hilary Cashman has joined in with some Latin for the prime Minister “Pacta Sunt Servanda” or “Agreements must be kept”, the oldest principle of International Law
Mike Cashman has also been busy, and recently placed “Stand by Your Dom” on YouTube, inspired by Tammy Wynette and the Prime Minister’s support for Mr Cummings.
This was followed up “The Ballad of Dom and Bojo”

Other recent YouTube songs include “Heroes, just for One Day”
And more:
- “I don’t beg pardon, I’m talking bollocks in the Rose Garden” which also demonstrates the many unanswered questions in the Cummings-to-Durham story
- “Boris has got a Little List” -which was updated in February 2020
- “Things that Will Astonish You” – exploring the Parliamentary conga
- “If you go down to the woods today” (Dominic’s checking his eyesight) – inspired by an original parody by Mike’s late father Denis Cashman.

The Sunday Times referred to this book as “Coronavirus the Musical“, which wasn’t quite the title we were thinking of, but that set us thinking. We have settled on describing it as your
